Working out doesn’t need to come to a halt just because we can’t go drive to our workout classes or hop on the treadmill at the gym. I’ve gotten bored of just running outside... I have a short attention span and I need a lot of change. HIIT workouts have been the best move for me.
HIIT workouts burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. The workout includes short bursts of intense exercise with a short period of rest. I’ve included 20-30 minute long videos, but you can find all different times on YouTube. Because of the intensity of a HIIT workout, your metabolism will be elevated for hours after the workout. You’re also getting a more full-body workout than just jogging outside.
Especially in a time like this, it’s important to keep yourself busy and your health in a strong place. Getting movement in everyday is important, it can also be something you can look forward to daily. You shouldn’t be hitting an intense workout 7 days a week. Make sure you’re keeping a variety of exercises. This can be anywhere from taking a walk, riding your bike, rollerskating, doing abs, arms, legs, booty, the options are endless. Having a stay-at-home order is NOT an excuse to stop moving.
