Hiking
I just came home from moving out of my sorority house in Madison, Wisconsin. My mom and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and decided to spend a day outside. We headed to Devil’s Lake. After our strenuous four mile hike, I was feeling really strong, powerful and extremley peaceful. Hiking is a full body cardio workout. I was curious to find out the health benefits of hiking. I did some research and here's what I found.
Hiking with friends/family can lead to…
Lower stress levels
Improved mood
Enhanced mental wellbeing
Increased flexibility and coordination
Boosted bone density
Strengthened core
Improved balance
Strengthened leg muscles
Enhanced relationships with friends/family
I definitely want to continue hiking while being home so I’ve compiled a list of scenic hiking paths on Long Island. If you go check any of these out, make sure you send me a message and let me know how it was.
